Credentials

We are very proud of the fact that Montessori schools are highly recognized models of superior achievement in early childhood education. Our years of experience in Montessori Education has not diminished our enthusiasm but has strengthened our resolve toward providing the highest quality of education possible for our communities.

The Montessori Academy of South Tampa is a Member School of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and has offered Montessori Certification trainings. Our degreed and certified international staff brings not only expertise but amazing culture, language, and ideas from around the world.

All staff and teachers, regardless of their educational background, are required to maintain the Florida state standards of Clock 45 Early Childhood Hours, 10 Annual Training Hours, and CPR/First Aid Certification. Our school additionally requires every teacher to acquire and maintain the Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification or FL Staff Credential equivalent. While some teachers have gone specifically through the Montessori trainings, many of our teachers hold degrees in a variety of complimentary backgrounds: Early Childhood, Education, Psychology, Art, etc.

Lastly, in addition to the active Directors, some staff members hold a FL State Director’s Credential.
